Support

Our mission is to help kids in low-income housing access opportunities in childhood to maximize the chances of success in adulthood.

We are an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving kids that live in housing owned or managed by Keene Housing, including Housing Choice voucher holders. We also serve kids in select Southwestern Community Services (SCS) housing properties in Keene (CitySide and Keene Highlands), Swanzey (Swanzey Township) and Winchester (Woodcrest).

We do this by giving kids access to opportunities and experiences in the community that will helps gain confidence, have fun, learn, get ready for kindergarten, do well in elementary school, and exit high school with the tools that will help them become economically independent adults. In 2022, we launched two new programs for our families. Driver’s Education and free transportation to and from Kids Collaborative youth activities in Keene and Swanzey.

Kids Collaborative Sports Bank

Designed to further help KHKC families eliminate financial barriers to having kids participate in youth sports programs, we are looking for donations of gently used or new sports gear to stock our bank. Eliminating registration fees was a start, but we want to ensure all kids are geared up and able to play.
As we head back to school and “back to sports”, families are gearing up for Fall sports. As you go through your closets to see what you need this season, you might have gently used gear that no longer fits, or is no longer needed. We are looking for:
⚽️ Soccer (Cleats, Shin Guards, Socks)
🏀 Basketball (Sneakers)
⚾️ Baseball/Softball (Gloves, Pants/Belt, Cleats)
🤸🏼‍♀️Gymnastics & Cheer (Leotards)
⛸Bike Riding / Ice Skating (Helmets)
🤼‍♀️Wrestling (Head Gear, Shoes)
🏈 Football (Cleats)
🥋Martial Arts (Gi)
Please remember the gear we are looking for is for youth (18 and under) and if you would not put your kids in it because it is more than gently used, we probably can’t use it.
Please have all gear bagged in clear plastic bags and dropped off to Keene Housing Kids Collaborative, 5 Harmony Lane, Keene, NH, Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4pm. Or give us a call at 603.352.0109 or email [email protected] to make arrangements.
Let’s work together to get our kids back to sports!

Qualified Charitable Donations & Donor Advised Funds

Qualified Charitable Donations (QCD) from an IRA Distribution

Are you over 70½ years of age? If so, you can gift funds from your IRA at a tax savings. This tax-wise giving strategy is an all-around win. If you opt for supporting the Keene Housing Kids Collaborative in this way, please let us know so we can be sure to know who the QCD came from.

Donate via a Donor-Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to Keene Housing Kids Collaborative directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF’s sponsoring organization is participating).

The Keene Housing Kids Collaborative is generously supported by a group of individual community leaders known as “The Collaborators” who support and invest in our mission and programs. If you would like to be a part of this collaborative, leadership group, please reach out to [email protected] for more information.
